WHEN I AM WEAK, I AM STRONG

Philippians 4:13
For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.

Where does my help come from? It comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth.

As I sat and listened to those words being sung at a recent Sunday Service, I couldn’t help but reflect on their profound truth. He may not always respond to our desires or actions, but his presence is unwavering. He is always present in our lives, whether we are experiencing sadness and sorrow or joy and happiness. He will never abandon us, even when we may turn our backs on Him. I know, I have been there more times than I care to admit, turning my back on Him in anger, pain, and defiance. I would shout to the heavens, “Why God? Why are you doing this? Why aren’t you helping? Why aren’t you making everything better?”

During those times in my life when I often felt alone and believed God didn’t care or listen to me, I realized He was always there. He may not have taken care of situations the way I wanted, but He was taking care of me in His own way. He was teaching me how to handle myself during those challenging times, helping me grow as a person. He guided me through those times to make me stronger and prevent me from turning my back on Him. I just needed to clear my head and open my eyes to see that He is always there to guide me through whatever life throws my way.

In 2 Corinthians 12:9 when talking to Paul the Lord said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” Paul then states in 2 Corinthians 12:10, That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses and insults, hardships, persecutions and trouble that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong. Paul is strong when he is weak because when he is weak, God’s grace is most powerful.
When you’re having those tough days when life seems to be challenging you in everything you do, remember that you’re not alone. Perhaps God is simply trying to teach you a lesson—that you can overcome even the most difficult challenges in life, even if they seem impossible. With God’s grace, we’ll weather the storms that come our way and rise to see the dawn of a new day and the hope it brings. And if you listen closely, you will hear him say, “I’m with you”.
